Cars in German Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police stated they were alerted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered many other marked vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say early analysis indicate the fluid was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials announced they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for details.

An important representative said the vandalism rendered him speechless and had to be resolved promptly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
