The Life Cycle of a Cult tends to be marked by distinct phases.

1. The Grand Vision

A charismatic leader or coaches introduce a new and transcendent idea that promises a cure for disconnected individuals.

Thus we find ourselves. Preparations are underway to challenge the establishment overseas. The gunships are circling. Conflict emerges from the out-houses. An isolated player, vulnerable, anxious, the words HIGH RELEASE POINT displayed prominently as a statement, has emerged through the lines and is removed with discretion to a different team elsewhere.

Do you ever miss the beginning, when optimism reigned? The era of early Bazball, of uninhibited aggression.

2. Love-Bombing

Movement founders offer a fresh beginning, hope for a future, camaraderie, success together united in belief in the big idea.

What was this thing initially? Players celebrating feeling good. Body art. Muscles. Focus. Elite male wellness energy. Oh sure, The squad will claim it’s not a real term, ironically since it’s not recognized, what was that spectacle?

Yet it’s clear the concept. It’s the player executing a stroke so outrageous it has to be pixelated. It’s the thrill of the captain in his final form, a demeanor suggesting: pensive Nordic god, strong features, hair woven from beaver hide, genuinely raw you almost imagine to look down and see him playing on the ground shirtless holding a fish.

It’s the batsman often seen addressing the media, out there looking like a joyful figure smartly dressed, saying stuff like we’re challenging norms. And yes, the atmosphere, for quite a long time, was uplifting.

3. Expansion Period

Building period. Cohesion maintained by rote learning of key phrases. These beliefs are often illogical to prove commitment.

Does anyone else feel? The backlash, the anger, the sense of betrayal following the initial loss seems too strong, unwarranted. England batted badly in Perth, as history shows. Reflecting on this, it is perhaps the moment to have some sympathy for the approach, to recognize its positives, of which there are many. How to define it? Creating a sense of freedom. Defying norms. Batting aggressively|Attacking with
